The Bechstein Hall is a long-form documentation project commissioned by Bechstein Pianos to document the construction and opening of its new concert hall on London’s Wigmore Street.
Filmed over an extended period, the project captured the full lifecycle of the hall’s development — from construction through to opening — combining performance, interviews and historical research into a single visual record. The work involved sustained production over an extended period, operating across multiple phases, locations and stakeholders.
In parallel with production, Fly On The Wall undertook detailed research into the history of Bechstein Hall and the company’s London presence, integrating historical context into the material.
The final output is a complete filmed record of the project, delivered as a structured archive of the hall’s development. The project demonstrates Fly On The Wall’s ability to deliver long-duration, documentation-led commissions, integrating documentary, architectural and performance filming within a single production system.
